Hawkettes Win Regional Opener

EG DOWNS MADRID, 44-30

After dropping four games to close the regular season, East Greene got back on the winning track last night with a 44-30 win over Madrid in a first-round regional game at Madrid.

The Hawkettes take on Glidden-Ralston at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, in a key quarterfinal matchup in Glidden. GR advanced with a win over Paton-Churdan last night in Glidden, 49-32. The Wildcats advance with a 4-15 season record while EG is now 9-12.

The winner of Tuesday's game faces the winner of the Rockwell City-Lytton vs. Northeast Hamilton tilt in a regional semifinal game on Friday, Feb. 19 in Boone.
